Race 7 No. 2 ADELAIDE ACE ($2.90)
ADELAIDE ACE is the one to beat in the Coleraine Cup. The six-year-old was ok when not quite suited over the 1400m when 5th in the Mildura Cup before heading to Caulfield and finishing an unlucky 4th behind Emissary at Listed level in the Heatherlie Handicap (1700m). The son of Savabeel settled last in the field of 14 that day before overcoming traffic in the straight to finish two lengths away, going a very healthy 8.7 lengths faster than standard. He rises in weight but drops sharply in grade for this and should enjoy a nice run from barrier 6 with Jarrod Fry to ride.

Race 6 No. 6 PENFRIEND– ($6)
Banking on improvement from PENFRIEND in the final event of the day. The Tony & Calvin McEvoy-trained galloper did not handle the Synthetic track at Ballarat on August 19 as a $2.20 favourite. She was first up that day and had previously won two of four. At her last preparation, the daughter of Written Tycoon improved seven lengths on benchmark figures when going from a win in a Terang Maiden to a 3rd at Ballarat in a BenchMark 64. She then claimed a BM58 at Terang by a big margin. Look for her to settle on the speed and be an improver.
