BEST BET 🏆

Race 4 :  No. 3  POSSIBLY SO  ($2.90 with BlueBet)

Bathurst galloper POSSIBLY SO is in outstanding form this time in and looks the one to beat in this contest. Last start, the Star Witness gelding made it back-to-back runner-up finishes when he beat all but one to the line in a Class 1 Hcp over 1400m at Forbes. He finished strongly that day, recording the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals for the race. He is five starts into this campaign and has found the podium at his last four starts. He gets the gun-run from gate one today and should take a ton of beating here.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 7 :  No. 8  DUBAI CENTRE  ($4.20 with BlueBet)

Canberra galloper DUBAI CENTRE comes into this year’s Cup with a hat-trick of wins alongside his name and looks every chance of making it four-straight today. Last start, the Pride Of Dubai gelding capped-off his preparation for this with a solid win in a BM66 Hcp over 1400m on a heavy Goulburn track. With regular rider Michael Heagney aboard, he stalked the race-leader to the 200m, then took control and went on for an impressive win. He maps to settle in a similar position today and with such an impressive resume here, he looks the to beat.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 6:  No. 2  DESHAWN  ($5 with Palmerbet)

Locally-trained by Barry Wall, DESHAWN has found form at the right time and looks a solid winning chance here. Last start, the Zoffany gelding wasn’t disgraced when finishing third in a fast-paced BM58 Hcp over 1400m at Forbes. With Ken Dunbar aboard, he chased hard in the run home and with 60kgs, still found the podium at the end of it. Dunbar sticks with him here and has seven previous rides with the six-year-old on his resume, still in search of his first win with the galloper. He draws the middle of the field here in barrier eight but has the early speed to cross and settle near the pace. He is a track specialist, boasting three wins and a runner-up finish from his four starts here and looks set for another bold effort today.
