Race 1 No. 9 QUEEN LATIFA- ($4.40)
This looks to be a suitable assignment for QUEEN LATIFA. The Greg Eurell-trained galloper has placed in four of six and should find this easier than a last start effort that saw her run 6th behind Tajneed at Sandown on September 14. She settled off the speed in a slowly run race that day to stick on to finish just over two lengths from the winner. The daughter of Pride Of Dubai went 3.7 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which are the best last start figures of any runner. She looks to be right in the mix and saves ground from barrier 1. Also worth noting that she has been crunched into $4.40 from $8 in a matter of hours on Wednesday.

Race 7 No. 5 LATVIAN- ($5.50)
LATVIAN can improve off a first up effort that saw him run 7th at Moonee Valley behind Shalaman on September 3 over the 1200m. The Anthony & Sam Freedman-trained galloper settled handy that day before just fading late to finish three lengths behind some handy types. He went 2.8 lengths faster than standard in that race, which are the best last start figures of any runner and the second best figures that any horse in this race has produced. Second up last time he improved to score at Moonee Valley in dominant fashion. The son of Pariah draws barrier 2 and will be ridden by Mark Zahra. He is another that has been smashed in the early betting for this.
