Race 8 No. 2 NOKHBAH – ($4) 

NOKHBAH can end the night a winner. The Team Hayes-trained galloper draws wide but has the early speed to cross and comes into this third up. She tackled the 1000m at Moonee Valley at her most recent start, settling handy before just missing behind Epic Centre in a BenchMark 70, going two lengths faster than standard. At her third run last time, the five-year-old improved six lengths on benchmark figures when going from a Pakenham Synthetic Maiden win to a runner-up at Sandown in a BM64. Rose Hammond rides and claims the 3kg. She has one win to her credit from four rides for the stable.

Race 4 No.1 WAR MACHINE – ($3.70) 

WAR MACHINE can just about make it back to back wins when he steps out in Race 4 at Cranbourne. The Mike Moroney-trained galloper resumed at Kyneton over the 1225m on March 7 and settled handy before clearing out at the business end to defeat Drift Net by over a length, while there was a decent gap back to the 3rd placegetter. The son of Harry Angel went 0.5 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is the best last start benchmark figure of any runner. He will strip fitter at his second run and can handle the rise to Class 1 level.
