BEST BET 🏆

Race 6:  No.1  KYOGLE KID  ($2.90 with bet365)

In great touch this time in, the Team Geran-trained KYOGLE KID looks well placed here for bac-to-back wins today. Last start, the Bel Esprit gelding was third-up when he went one better and broke through for his Maiden win over 1300m at Toowoomba. He clobbered his opposition that day, putting almost three lengths on them over the line. He ran the last 600m, 1.5 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best here by more than 3 lengths. He also recorded the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals for the race. Even fitter for three runs back now, he is ideally drawn in gate two and maps to settle just off the pace. After the claim, he carries the same weight as last start and making his track debut here, he looks the one to beat.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 7:  No.1  THE TYLER  ($2.25 with Palmerbet)

Lindsay Hatch saddles-up THE TYLER here and unbeaten at the track to date, looks all set for a second-up win today. Last start, the Tycoon Ruler gelding was resuming off a lengthy 23-week break and wasn’t disgraced when finishing mid-field (beaten just two lengths) in a BM70 Hcp over 1200m at Toowoomba. He box-seated that day but when the opportunity arose, his condition gave out and he couldn’t go on with it. He is two from two here and is a winner when second-up. He maps to settle better than mid-field from gate seven today and fitter for that first-up run, he will take beating here in this easier affair.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 5:  No.4  NORTHERN WOODS  ($4.60 with Palmerbet)

Chris Munce saddles-up NORTHERN WOODS here for his first look at the Dalby track and third-up today looks a genuine winning chance in this line-up. Last start, the Redwood gelding showed plenty of improvement when he beat all but one to the line in a BM58 Hcp over 1700m in provincial company at the Gold Coast. Beaten a neck on the post, he ran his last 600m, half a length quicker than benchmark, the best here. Samantha Collett has her first ride on him today and drawn the fence, he maps to settle in the first half-dozen with cover. Back to country class racing today, with a clear run to the line, he looks a worthy contender in this contest.
