Race 5 No. 2 MAINCOURT – ($5)
Longford trainer tipped MAINCOURT out for a spell while in good form following his win over this track and distance under Bulent Muchu. Jumped well first-up before coming back under Ismail Toker off what appeared to be a slow pace when leaving the straight. The first few put some pace on down the back which eventually had the field strung out. Toker brought Maincourt into the race on turning, making his run together with the odds-on elect Rising Light. They both went for home into the straight with Rising Light proving too good with the first two putting a gap back onto the rest. Drawn to find the run of the race under Ismail Toker and Maincourt will have stripped fitter again.

Race 2 No. 5 BYNANCE – ($4)
The Gando brothers unleash with BYNANCE in the second and we love the gap trainer Mark has allowed between her first-up run. She was away evenly off her inside draw in a good Class One race this track and trip which was won by Schauffele. Daniel had found the box-seat behind the speed early with Bynance a little flat-footed when they sprinted around her. The mare responded to her rider’s urgings to chase gamely into the straight. Her third placing that day followed on from two trial wins in readiness to resume. Given a quiet time between horses early in her trial since before being asked for an effort late.

Race 6 No. 9 TILTHEREWARSYOU – ($9.50)
We landed a good result here last week when backing TILTHEREWARSYOU as he raced home an impressive winner. His third win on the trot leaves his trainer Liandra Gray fast running out of options to place the mare. She does deserve her chance in this grade though as Mehmet Ulucinar rounded them up on turning with Tiltherewarsyou coming away from them late. This is a handy benchmark 68 race where we hope Ulucinar can hunt the fence to take the shortcuts home.
