BEST BET 🏆
Race 2 No. 4 CORONATION VERONIC – ($3.40)
Siggy Carr takes the ride aboard CORONATION VERONIC as her mare resumes for the stable. Shown good gate speed at all three runs when first in work and did complete her races in okay time. Both trials back this time in have been encouraging, including her latest effort when following a race-fit Vetlanda around the course. Those trials also gave the public a chance to witness Coronation Veronic running on the synthetic to which she seemed to handle with ease. Has drawn well and can race very forward for Siggy while fresh.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 10 No. 3 VETLANDA – ($3.60)
The wise head of Barry Campbell sees him go for the four kilo claim of already successful apprentice Lauryn Bingley. A winner of three of her seven career rides to date, Bingley is destined to shake that four kilo tag sometime soon. Vetlanda knows how to bump into a good horse, knocking off Turk Delight a few starts ago in Launceston. Has since finished behind Fairy Magic at the same track while finding no answers for Rebel Factor here with her latest effort. None of those sort of names are set to go around in the last on Sunday, and Vetlanda can break through again.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 6 No. 1 PERUN – ($10)
Last start track and distance winner PERUN sat back off a slow speed to sprint best to score when racing in this class. Still had to deal with a brute of a horse in Dargo back to his inside who continued to shift, taking Perun off the track. There would appear to be better pressure up front in this which should work into Randy Tan’s favour as he will likely allow Perun to find his feet early. Not sure an inside draw really is ideal for this horse, however Tan should have a few options to take him into the race with. Perun is a horse who comes to hand fairly quickly as he has done this prep, and then tends to carry that form through.
