NIGHT PASSAGE can fire in the Donald Cup. The Tony McEvoy-trained galloper comes in with seven weeks in between runs and rattled home at Sandown over the 1400m at her most recent start, finishing a narrow 5th behind Pascero. She arguably should have won that as she was held up at a vital time. At this stage of her last campaign she was a 10 length improver on benchmark figures when runner-up in this race off a four week break.

Race 8 No. 14 GLITTER ‘N’ GOLD- ($7.50)
We close out with a BenchMark 64 and GLITTER ‘N’ GOLD can be an improver at her second run back this preparation. The Lindsey Smith-trained galloper was fair when resuming over the 1200m at Ballarat on October 20, settling back in a race where they crawled early, sticking on for 7th, beaten four lengths. Second up last time she was an improver when going from the 1200m to the 1450m, winning at Kilmore before producing some solid performances in harder company in town. She draws well in barrier 4 and drops 2.5kg in weight from her first up run.
