Race 5 : No. 3 DARALINA BELLE ($3.30 with Palmerbet)
Warwick Farm visitor DARALINA BELLE has a resume that suggests she is more than capable on making her Doomben debut a winning one here. Last start, the Deep Field mare wasn’t beaten far when finishing mid-field in a BM78 Hcp over 1300m at Randwick. She finished strongly that day, covering her final 600m, 12 lengths quicker than benchmark, more than seven lengths better then her rivals here. James Orman has the reins here as the mare do little to no early work from gate two. With a trouble-free run, she should prove hard to hold out.

Race 9 : No. 3 DESERT DREAMER ($6.50 with Palmerbet)
The Tony Gollan-trained DESERT DREAMER is second-up here and looks a ‘shoe-in’ for back-to-back victories in this contest. Last start, the Dream Ahead gelding was fresh off a 15-week spell when he cleaned-up a 1MW field, here over 1200m. Finishing too well for them that day, he ran his last 600m, 9.3 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this field by more than 7 lengths. From an ideal draw in gate three, if he can reproduce that effort again, he can take this event out comfortably at odds.

Race 4 : No. 8 CONTRITION ($8 with bet365)
Sunshine Coast galloper CONTRITION is back for her second tilt at Doomben and her form suggests she is right in the mix here. Last start, the Tavistock mare Clobbered a BM75 field over 2400m at Eagle Farm when she put 2.5 lengths on them across the line. That was her second win in the past three starts. She ran that out, 5.1 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this line-up. She also posted the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals for that race. She draws well here in gate six and Larry Cassidy sticks with her for this contest. She looms as a real contender at odds here.
