Settling too far back last start, the Not A Single Doubt colt made good ground in the run home but arrived a half-length too late, having to settle for second prize on the day. He ran his last 600m, 5.9 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this field. He also recorded the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals for the race. Third-up here, stepping up to the mile looks ideal now and with Brodie Loy in the saddle for the first time, he looks a genuine threat to this field.

The John Smerdon-trained IRISH PLAYBOY has been in red-hot form of late and looks a genuine winning chance here with most boxes ticked. Last start, the Fastnet Rock gelding made it two wins from his past three starts when he finished best to grab victory in a BM80 Hcp over the mile at Eagle Farm. He ran the last 600m, 6.5 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best last-start effort here. He also posted the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals for the race. Meeting similar company today, he does no early work from gate two and already a track and distance winner, he should prove hard to hold out again.

He ran a new personal best that day, covering the trip, 7.1 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this line-up. Already a winner when third-up and a winner at the track, he will strip even fitter and should prove hard to hold out again.
