Race 6:  No.1  SPIRITUALISED  ($2.70 with BlueBet)

The Tony Gollan-trained SPIRITUALISED comes off a 14-week break here but a recent trial suggests the three-year-old is ready to pounce on those fresh legs. Last start, the Spirit Of Boom colt ended his last campaign in style by putting almost four lengths on his rivals in a Three-Year-Old Plate over 1200m at Eagle Farm. He ran that trip out, 3.8 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best last-start effort here by more than 5 lengths. He trialled here last week where he put 3.5 lengths on them over the line. Two previous first-up efforts both ended in top-two finishes (winning one of those) and James Orman remains in the saddle where he has steered the colt to two victories from three previous rides. With that trial under his belt and a winner at the track and distance, he looks the testing material in this contest.

Race 4:  No.6  STREET DANCER  ($4.20 with Palmerbet)

The David Vandyke-trained STREET DANCER is third-up here and has a resume that suggests he is a big threat to this contest. Last start, the Pride Of Dubai gelding wasn’t that far away when he took home third prize in the Mooloolaba Cup over the mile at the Sunshine Coast. Still a little short in distance for him, he settled too far back to pose a real threat to victory that day. Stepping up to a winning distance here, he is already a winner when third-up and has two victories from three previous runs at Doomben to boast about. He gets the gun-run from gate one and will take beating here.

Race 8:  No.9  GOLDSBOROUGH  ($6 with Unibet)

Second-up here, beware of Caloundra galloper GOLDSBOROUGH who boasts a solid second-up record and has glowing stats at the track. Last start, the Headwater gelding finished less than a length behind the placegetters when he took home fourth prize in the Swiss Ace Plate behind (winner) Le Palmier over the 1000m sprint. Already a winner when second-up and a two-time winner here, he will appreciate the step up in distance here and has regular rider Ben Thompson in the saddle who boasts a hat-trick of wins and as many minor placings from his eight rides to date. Fitter here, he will be right there when the whips are cracking.
