Race 7: No.3 ADELINDA ($5 with Palmerbet)

The Tracey Bartley-trained ADELINDA is second-up today and boasting a good record, looks well placed in this field to take home the chocolates. Last start, the Adelaide mare ran home well to finish fifth in a Class 1 Hcp over 1100m at Gosford. She covered her last 600m, 6 lengths quicker than benchmark, more than 7 lengths faster than this line-up. The four-year-old makes her track debut today and maps to settle better than mid-field from gate six. Already a winner when second-up, she looks set to give this a real shake today.

Race 6: No.3 IRON HAT ($3.60 with bet365)

Muswellbrook galloper IRON HAT is back on track after three starts this preparation and looks well placed here to salute. Last start, the Salade gelding showed plenty of improvement when beating all but one home in a Class 1 Hcp over 1000m on his home track. He ran the last 600m, 1.5 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best here while posting the fastest final 800m sectional as well. He sees the Dubbo track for the first time today and has the services of Grant Buckley. Fourth-up today, he should be at his peak for this and looks right in the mix here.

Race 2: No.3 CRYSTAL BEANZ ($4 with Palmerbet)

The Mudgee-based galloper CRYSTAL BEANZ has four podium finishes from her five starts this time in and is overdue to break through for her first win. Last start, the Spill The Beans mare missed out again when she was run down on the line, finishing third in a 1280m Maiden at Gilgandra. Sitting outside the leader, she took over on straightening, but she was grabbed by two swoopers, beaten half a length on the post. Today, she returns to Dubbo where Anna Roper has steered her to runner-up finishes on both occasions and the apprentice has the reins again. She maps to settle in the first half-dozen from gate seven and with lady luck on her side today, she can the job done.
