Gold Coast galloper ZOUPERB sees Eagle Farm for the first time today but has the runs on the board that suggest she is a serious contender for the major prize in this contest. Last start, the Zoustar mare came off a hat-trick of minor placings when she clobbered a Class 1 field over 1200m at Murwillumbah. Box-seating to the turn, the $1.80 favourite took over soon after and left them in her wake as she strolled away to win by 3.5 lengths on the line. This is her first test against city class gallopers but she has James Orman as the pilot and draws nicely in gate three. She maps to (possibly) be box-seating again and in career-best form this time in, she looks the one to beat here.

Race 1:  No.5  LEITZEL  ($3.60 with Picklebet)

Chris Waller saddles-up LEITZEL here who is three starts into his career and looks well placed here in a small field for back-to-back victories today. Last start, the Trapeze Artist filly made it third-time-lucky when she broke through for her first win, here in a 1400m Maiden. With Damien Thornton in the saddle, she settled near last but finished strongly to cross the line a length ahead of her opposition that day. She gets the gun-run today from gate one as Thornton sticks with her again. If the pace is genuine, she will get the last crack at them in the run home.

Race 4:  No.3  DEMON DARB  ($3.40 with BlueBet)

The Robert Heathcote-trained DEMON DARB is high-flying this time in and looks up to taking this contest out today. Last start, the Pierro gelding came off an impressive Class 1 victory at the Sunshine Coast when he beat all but one home in a harder Class 3 event over 1650m at Doomben. Heathcote puts him up in distance today and the conditions looks ideal as he is already a winner in wet conditions. Cejay Graham is legged aboard for the first time and from gate seven, should settle in the first half-dozen. With three runs under his belt, he should be at his peak today and has claims here to challenge for the major prize.
