The David Vandyke-trained BEAST MODE is yet to miss a top-two finish in five career-starts to date and first-up today, looks the testing material again. Last start, the Better Than Ready gelding ended his first campaign beating all but one home in a Three-Year-Old Hcp over 1050m at Doomben back in April. He returned to work with a trial win at the Sunshine Coast two weeks back and that has set him up for a first-up assault in this contest. Justin Huxtable has the reins for the first time and from gate five, he maps to settle just off the pace. He won on debut and in fact was unbeaten in three starts last preparation and should prove hard to hold out here.

Race 4:  No.12  SACRED FEELING  ($1.95 with Picklebet)

Tony Gollan saddles-up SACRED FEELING here who has impressed so much in her first two starts, she looks right up to this contest today. Last start, the Sacred Falls mare came off a podium finish on debut and clobbered her rivals in a Maiden Plate over the mile at Doomben. Ridden a treat by Ben Thompson, she came from behind and in full flight, took control inside the final 200m and cruised to victory, putting almost three lengths on the field, like all $1.30 chances should. Up in distance today, Thompson sticks with her and drawn the fence again, she looks all set to dominate proceedings again and looks the testing material again.

Race 7:  No.6  BOODUA ROMANCE  ($9 with Bet Right)

The locally-trained BOODUA ROMANCE is on fire this time in and on his home track today, looks a genuine winning chance at odds. Last start, the Love Conquers All gelding came off consecutive podium finishes where he went one better at Ipswich and destroyed his rivals in a Class 1 Plate over 1100m. Third-up and fighting fit, Michael Murphy rode him a treat as he crossed the line almost two lengths ahead of them that day. He steps to BM65 company today but back on home soil, Murphy sticks with him and at his peak with those three runs under his belt, he looks a serious player at each-way odds today.
