BEST BET 🏆
Race 5: No.3 WEIGALL TIGER ($2.45 with Bet Right)
The Keely Schweida-trained WEIGALL TIGER is unbeaten in three starts this time in and ticks all the boxes to suggest that won’t change here. Last start, the Saxon Warrior gelding totally destroyed his rivals in a Three-Year-Old Hcp, here over 1400m. Cejay Graham rode him a treat, settling right behind the leader on the fence. Soon after straightening, Graham simply showed him the gap that opened up, and away he went, winning by almost five lengths under hands and heels, eased near the line. He faces similar company here with Graham remaining aboard for this assignment. Ideally drawn again in gate three, only bad luck appears to be his enemy here.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 8: No.5 FREEDOM RALLY ($3.40 with bet365)
Tony Gollan saddles-up almost half the field here as we run with FREEDOM RALLY to get the job done for the stable. Last start, the Rubick gelding was fresh off a 14-week spell and did well to beat all but one home in a Class 6 over 1200m at the Sunshine Coast with James Orman aboard. His credentials shine brightly here as he is unbeaten in two second-up appearances and he is also three from three at the Eagle Farm track. Orman sticks with him as he looks the one to beat in this contest.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 6: No.2 SHOOTING FOR GOLD ($5 with BlueBet)
The O’Dea & Hoysted Team saddle-up SHOOTING FOR GOLD here who is third-up and looks certain to pounce in this contest. Last start, the Shooting To Win gelding was second-up and caught wide most of the way when he still beat all but one home in Open company over 1000m at the Sunshine Coast. He had 58.5kgs to carry that day, jumping from the outside gate (13). All boxes look ticked (and then some) here with his resume showing he is a two-time winner at the track and distance and a winner when third-up as well. Ideally drawn in gate two here, Justin Huxtable sticks with him boasting an impeccable record with the six-year-old as he shoots for his fifth winning ride on him in the event. He looks a serious player in this field.
