Race 5: No.3 BORN A WARRIOR ($2.30 with Ladbrokes)
Gold Coast galloper BORN A WARRIOR hasn’t looked back since moving north from the Ron Quinton stables in Sydney and looks well placed here to bring up the hat-trick today. Last start, the I Am Invincible gelding made it back-to-back victories when he took out a BM68 Hcp, here over 1200m. Despite drawing the outside gate (10) that day, he ran his last 600m 7 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best last-start effort here and ran the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals as well. James Orman has been aboard for his past two runs and sticks with him today. Yet to miss a podium finish after eight starts for new trainer Renita Beaton, he draws better here in gate five and looks the one to beat again.

Race 3: No.8 WISE LEGEND ($3.90 with TAB)
The Lee Freedman-trained WISE LEGEND has impressed with two podium finishes to date and today looks set to break through for his first win. Last start, the So You Think gelding drew the outside gate and gradually crossed to find the front. He set a good pace and in the run home, fought it out with Annabel Neasham’s galloper (Sleigh Queen) and missed out by a bob of the head on the line. Fitter for two runs now, Freedman puts him up over the mile today and with the two-race experience behind him, he should prove hard to run down here.

Race 9: No.13 MERIMEE ($5.50 with Palmerbet)
Chris Waller saddles-up a third of the field here as we run with MERIMEE as the most likely to home the major prize today. Last start, the Winning Rupert mare was thereabouts again as she finished just behind the placegetters in a BM68 Hcp, here over the mile. James Orman had his fifth ride on the mare that day and is sticking with her here. She is three starts into this campaign now and will go to the gates even fitter today. Already a winner at the track and dropping a little in distance here, she gets all the favours from gate one and looks set to improve enough to take this one out.
