The O’Dea & Hoysted-trained NAVAL TRADER is third-up here and ticks the right boxes that suggest he is the one to beat in this contest. Last start, the Merchant Navy gelding improved a lot to finish on the podium when he claimed third prize in a BM78, here over 1400m. He is yet to miss a top-three finish in five starts at the track and is already a winner when third-up. He maps to settle better than mid-field from gate seven and will be there at the finish.

Race 6:  No.2  SHARP DAZZLER

Team Sears saddle-up SHARP DAZZLER here who comes off a hat-trick of wins and is staring another in the face in this contest. Last start, the Red Dazzler gelding won his third-straight in style when he destroyed his rivals in a Three-Year-Old Open Hcp, here over 1400m. With Cejay Graham aboard, he raced three-wide most of the way and coming from back in the field, still managed to finish too strong for them, clearing away to win by more than two lengths that day. Meeting similar company here, the promising three-year-old welcomes Bailey Wheeler as the new pilot here who brings with him a 2kg claim. Unbeaten in three starts at ‘the Farm’, he looks the one to beat again.

Race 5:  No.5  BRENTWOOD

The ever-consistent BRENTWOOD is in search of his fourth-straight podium finish this time in and lines-up here looking a serious winning chance. Last start, the I Am Invincible gelding kept the good work going when he beat all but one home in a Class 6 set weights event over 1350m at Doomben. With Angela Jones on board, he tried to lead all the way and failed by less than a length in achieving that. He won fourth-up last preparation and looks nicely placed here to repeat that. Ideally drawn in gate three, with Jones as the pilot again, he maps to be box seating on settling. At his peak now, he can get the job done here.
