BEST BET 🏆
Race 4: No.8 NAVAL TRADER ($3.40 with Neds)
The O’Dea and Hoysted Team saddle-up the promising NAVAL TRADER here who looks set for back-to-back victories in this contest. Last start, the Merchant Navy gelding was second-up when he finished best to claim victory in a BM65 Hcp over 1400m at the Sunshine Coast. This looks no harder and he won third-up last preparation, breaking his maiden status at Eagle Farm. Ben Thompson remains aboard for this assignment. Drawn the outside gate here, he has good early gate speed and should manage to cross and settle just behind the pace. Fitter for those two runs back, he should be at his peak here and looks the testing material.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 3: No.11 SIMPLY REFUSE ($7.50 with Ladbrokes)
The Jack Bruce-trained SIMPLY REFUSE is unbeaten in two starts and looks well placed here to bring up the hat-trick. Last start, the Pierro mare came off her maiden win when she lumped 60kgs to victory in a BM58 Hcp over 1300m at the Sunshine Coast. Justin Huxtable returns after steering the mare to that maiden win and from gate two, maps to be parked right behind the speed. She looks up to this class and with a trouble-free run here, she can give this a real shake at odds.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 1: No.4 TOO HARD TO REFUSE ($15 with Bet Right)
The Desleigh Forster-trained TOO HARD TO REFUSE is in top-shelf form this time in and looks a real chance here at odds. Last start, the Heroic Valour gelding made it back-to-back wins when he clobbered a BM65 field over the mile at Gatton. He faces city class gallopers here but has the experience after winning on debut at Doomben. Kirk Matheson has been aboard for three runs this preparation and sticks with him here. He gets the gun-run form gate one and is well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
