Race 7:  No.1  ACQUITTED  ($2.40 with bet365)

The Kris Lees-trained ACQUITTED has returned in top-shelf form and looks all set to claim victory here. Last start, the Irish-bred gelding went one better than his first-up effort and easily accounted for his rivals in a Listed Stakes race at Doomben over the 1600m trip. With James Orman aboard, he carried 59.5kgs to win by 1.5 lengths on the line. He has raced on this track once previously which resulted in a victory by three lengths over 1400m on a Heavy 8 that day. He looks up to his best this preparation and will take beating here.

Race 8:  No.6  ZARASTRO  ($2.90 with bet365)

Tony Gollan saddles-up a trio of runners here as we run with ZARASTRO who looks the most likely to salute in this contest. The I Am Invincible gelding is in white-hot form of late, winning four of his past five starts. His latest effort was a convincing win in Listed company over 1350m at Doomben. With Angela Jones aboard, he led from barrier to box, leaving them 3.5 lengths behind as he crossed the line. He meets similar company here and unbeaten in three starts at the track and distance, he clearly is the benchmark for this assignment.

Race 2:  No.6  DEEP TEMPEST  ($6 with Ladbrokes)

The David Vandyke-trained DEEP TEMPEST is in great touch this time in and looks well placed here to record a victory at his Eagle Farm debut. Last start, the Ocean Park gelding came off a Class 3 win over 1400m and followed that up with a close-up third against similar company as he stepped-up to the mile that day. Both runs were at the Sunshine Coast with James Orman aboard. Fourth-up here and the blinkers are back on for this contest, Orman sticks with the five-year-old who draws gate two and maps to be parked right behind the speed. At his peak now, with a trouble-free run here, he should be there at the finish.
