BEST BET 🏆
Race 4: No.5 SECRET TALES ($5 with Palmerbet)
The locally-trained SECRET TALES is in great touch this time in and dropping in grade today, looks right in the mix for this contest. Last start, the Spill The Beans mare came off a good win at Doomben when she tackled a Class 6 event on the same track where she beat all but one home over 1600m. She ran that out, 8.8 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best last-start effort here by more than seven lengths and that was a new personal best for her as well. She drops in class today and steps up in distance which looks ideal for her now. Nikita Beriman returns for the ride today, having ridden the mare to victory in that Doomben effort two starts back. Rock-hard fit after three starts back, she will take beating here today.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 6: No.3 ACROBATIC ($5.50 with BlueBet)
Trained at the track by Kelly Schweida, ACROBATIC has found the podium in all three starts this preparation and looks well placed here to take home first prize today. Last start, the Snitzel gelding wasn’t disgraced when taking home third prize in an Open Company contest over 1350m at Ipswich. That was his third-straight visit to the podium without winning. Today, he drops back to the 1000m trip and after three runs back, he should be nearing his peak. He has been a model of consistency of late, finishing top-three at his past four starts and his home-track record reads ten starts for two wins and four runner-up finishes. Justin Huxtable has been aboard for all three runs this preparation and remains in the saddle today. Ideally drawn in gate three here, he looks a real threat to this field.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 7: No.7 STUCK IN A DREAM ($17 with TAB)
Gold Coast galloper STUCK IN A DREAM has made an impression in her five-start career to date and looks a winning chance here at odds today. Last start, the Spieth filly bounced back off an unplaced run on a heavy track at Grafton when she beat all but one home in a Class 1 Hcp over 1000m at the Sunshine Coast. She ran her last 600m, 3.3 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this line-up, while posting the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals as well. Just one prior visit here saw her victorious when taking out a 1000m Maiden Plate with Corey Bayliss aboard who returns for the job in this event. If she can overcome the wide gate today, she can give this a real shake at double-figure odds today.
