Race 7: No.6 BEAST MODE ($2.70 with Neds)
The David Vandyke-trained BEAST MODE is second-up here and ticks all the boxes that suggest he is the one to beat here. Last start, the Better Than Ready gelding was fresh off a 21-week break when he proved too good for them in a Class 3 Hcp, here over the 1000m sprint. Justin Huxtable was aboard for the first time and rode the galloper a treat, leading all the way to make it four wins from his six starts to date. Huxtable sticks with him for this assignment and already a winner when second-up, a trouble-free run here look should see him bring up back-to-back victories in this contest.

Race 3: No.3 ACTION KING ($3.40 with Palmerbet)
Trained at the track by Kelly Schweida, ACTION KING is having his third race start here and has done enough in his first two efforts to suggest he will be hard to beat in this contest. Last start, the Irish-bred galloper totally destroyed his opposition when he brough up his first win in a 1050m Maiden Plate at Doomben. With James Orman aboard, he drew the fence and from there, led from barrier to box, putting more than four lengths on them across the line. He steps up sharply in class here but his last effort showed he can make the jump here successfully as Orman sticks with him for this assignment. Plenty of upside with this fellow.

Race 4: No.1 REGAL POM ($6.75 with Bet Right)
Annabel Neasham saddles-up REGAL POM here who is three starts into this campaign and now looks ready to win. Last start, the Press Statement gelding improved out of sight when he beat all but one home in a Class 6 over the mile at Doomben. Down in grade here, he sees the track for the first time and after Bailey Wheeler’s claim, comes in well at the weights with 59kgs to carry. He was a winner when fourth-up last preparation and has tasted victory over this distance previously. He gets the gun-run from gate one and at his peak here, he looks a strong winning chance in this contest.
