Race 4 No. 4 IMPENDING SHADOW- ($2.40)

IMPENDING SHADOW can get the job done in Race 4. The four-year-old has had two runs this time in and was ok from a long way back at Bendigo when resuming over the 1100m before stepping up to the 1400m and running on for 3rd behind Metrical. The locally trained galloper comes into this third up and was a narrow runner-up at her only go at the track.

Race 1 No.7 FORBIDDEN CITY- ($3.45)

FORBIDDEN CITY should be hard to beat in the Echuca Cup. The Moody/Coleman galloper has been up for a while but has been excellent in some strong races in Melbourne throughout her preparation. She was a narrow runner-up at Flemington at Group 3 level over the 1400m two starts ago before sticking on well in a leader dominated affair at Caulfield behind Revolutionary Miss. This is easier and Linda Meech will look to land in a prominent spot early on from the draw.
