BEST BET 🏆

Race 3 No. 2 PICARGO – ($3)

Track and distance specialist PICARGO announced himself as the new kid on the block with a resounding win two back. Alana Livesey scored her first Metro winner aboard Picargo when following Terbium into the race. A saloon passage opened for her as the leaders drifted off the fence. Made no difference to the result as Picargo pinged the ears back for Livesey and raced away with an ever-widening margin. Scored again during the latest Gawler meeting when asked to sit/sprint off the slow tempo. Picargo got the job done for us in a tradesman like fashion over another last start winner. The sharp rise in weight here may become offset with Livesey able to get rolling with the fast tempo.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 2 No. 3 IMBIBE – ($4)

The Gary & Dean Alexander training partnership have been gathering momentum of late and can win again with IMBIBE. Stable jockey Barend Vorster is shooting for three-straight wins on the filly following her maiden win at Murray Bridge. She powered away from subsequent winner Seafaring that day, who incidentally went within a whisker of winning in town since. Imbibe settled near the speed over this track and trip before scoring again. Comes back slightly in class now and meets a few going up in trip for the first time.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 7 No. 10 KYSHAKA – ($9)

Murray Bridge horseman Petre Hardacre sent KYSHAKA around at Gawler over 2100 metres and close to her peak at her fourth run back. This is probably right at the top of her distance, and Teagan Voorham had brought her back in an attempt to get in from the wide draw. The move was to no avail with the pair forced to travel wide throughout with the slow pace forcing Teagan to go early. Kyshaka had been left in front from a long way out and only went down to the superior turn of foot belonging to Disagreeable Miss. Steps up further again to 2150m while being fitter and drawn for a comfortable run.
