Race 4 No. 8 CHARLESFORT – ($2.50)

We like to follow horses such as CHARLESFORT who has ability and tends to do enough things right in his races. He was a little keen first-up under Dom Tourneur at Morphettville on Melbourne Cup Day. He wasn’t too silly though with the senior rider keeping the fresh horse under wraps. Charlesfort finished off well enough to record a strong overall time behind Fleurieu Flipper over six furlongs that day. Backed it up on the Parks when caught deep off a fast tempo over 1250 metres. Still continued strongly and looks well-placed by the Chris Bieg stable.

Race 2 No. 10 SEPORIA – ($3.40)

Tommy Stokes found some improvement with SEPORIA when racing over 1200 metres here last start. The filly was racing second-up and wasn’t the best away once again. She soon travelled well between horses for Sophie Logan and was building into the race on the turn. Logan had her into the clear by the time they straightened with Seporia showing no real burst of speed. She still ground home okay despite wanting to lay in from about the furlong to the winning post. Stable senior Kayla Crowther took the ride with Seporia third-up last start.  Finished strongly for us that day and the step up even further in trip should suit again.

Race 3 No. 1 STOCKED AND LOADED – ($11)

Grant Young sent STOCKED AND LOADED around over 1700 metres at only his second race start for the stable. The former Queenslander was coming off a run over 2000 metres in town with punters sending him out at big odds. Anna Jordjso settled Stocked And Loaded towards the rear of the field before getting onto the back of the winner Applied. Despite receiving all the favours from Jordjso in the run, Stocked And Loaded was left by the sharp turn of foot from Applied by the top of the straight. Jordjso kept at her mount who responded by grinding home powerfully up the middle to run second. Failed on a heavy track and can bounce back to his best while racing on top of the ground.
