Geelong Tips 4/1/2022
BEST BET 🏆
Race 2 No. 4 MR I’M A BELIEVER- ($2.30)
Keen on MR I’M A BELIEVER in Race 2. The Peter Moody-trained galloper has had just the one start with that coming over the 2000m back in April when finishing runner-up behind Dunalley. Big run on that occasion and the son of Make Believe has some obvious talent. He should be primed to launch his campaign and draws to save ground from barrier 2 with Linda Meech to ride.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 1 No. 2 CHARMED DESTINY- ($2.60)
CHARMED DESTINY can break through in the opener at Geelong. The Danny O’Brien-trained galloper has had two runs this time in and stepped up to the 2000m at Werribee on December 18, finishing 4th behind Amphactor. He was posted wide the trip but stuck on. At his third run last time, the son of Tamayuz produced a personal best by going by going 0.3 lengths faster than standard when an unlucky 6th at Ballarat over the 2000m, beaten half a length in what turned out to be a strong form race. A big firmer in the early betting, he gets his chance with Daniel Moor to steer.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 6 No. 8 EVERYLITTLE BREEZE- ($4.80)
EVERYLITTLE BREEZE shapes as a solid player in Race 6 of the day for the three-year-olds. The filly has had three career starts and resumed with a runner-up performance at Werribee behind Harbin. She settled leaders back that day and went 3.2 lengths faster than standard benchmark. The Tony & Calvin McEvoy galloper improved three lengths on figures when second up last time and looks like she wants the step up to the 1200m.
BEST VALUE 💰(EACH-WAY)
Race 8 No. 13 PINNACE- ($7)
PINNACE can go close for the Godolphin stable in the final event of the day at Geelong. The filly was a winner in a weaker affair at Kyneton two starts ago before stepping out over the 1000m and running 5th behind Boss Lady Rocks over at a recent Moonee Valley night meeting. She attracted support that night and was disappointing on face value in that race but she did go nearly four lengths faster than standard, which are the best last start figures of any runner. Third up at her last preparation, the daughter of Astern improved eight lengths on figures when 4th behind Cotel at Caulfield over the 1100m. Celine Gaudry rides and claims the 1.5kg.
