Race 5 No. 4 ELLEN’S LICENCE- ($2.80)

ELLEN’S LICENCE can go close in Race 5. The Patrick Payne-trained galloper was a debut winner at Donald back in July and has been close up in his three runs since. He resumed off a six-week break on the Heavy 10 at Swan Hill on September 9, finishing 3rd behind Play On Words over the 1600m in what has turned out to be a strong form race then was runner-up behind Hafey on the Ballarat Synthetic over the 1400m last time. The son of Turffontein finished off with the fastest last 200m in that race and looks suited by the step up in trip.

Race 3 No. 6 KING NEPTUNE- ($4.20)

KING NEPTUNE can go close to breaking the maiden in Race 3 of the day at Geelong. The Philip Stokes-trained galloper has had the two career starts and closed off well over the 1100m at Bendigo on November 9 when runner-up behind Cause For Concern. He went 4.3 lengths slower than standard in that race, which are the best last start figures of any runner. Step to the 1200m looks ideal and he draws barrier 2 with Zac Spain to ride.
