Geelong Tips 28/4/2023

BEST BET 🏆 (WIN)

Race 9 No. 2 POWERFUL EAGLE- ($2.30)

POWERFUL EAGLE can close the day off with a win. The Peter Moody-trained galloper should enjoy a class edge here and narrowly missed when resuming on March 15 at Sandown before leading and running 4th behind Gringotts at his most recent start. This is a huge class drop and the son of Ribchester gets the 4kg claim for Emily Pozman. She has had two starts for the stable for a win and the pair draw barrier 5.

NEXT BEST 🥈 (WIN)

Race 4 No 4 PITCHANUN- ($2.80)

PITCHANUN should be hard to beat in Race 4 at Geelong. The Danny O’Brien-trained galloper has not won in over a year but this looks easier than anything she has contested in a while. The five-year-old resumed at Sandown on April 10 and didn’t quite handle the track at BenchMark 70 level but stuck on ok for 7th, beaten four lengths by Unusual Culture. She was a big improver off a similar performance at her second run last time when runner-up at Flemington. The daughter of Savabeel should enjoy a nice time of it from barrier 2 and has attracted support in the early betting.

BEST VALUE 💰(EACH-WAY)

Race 7 No.6 MOSS JOB- ($9.10)

MOSS JOB shapes a sneaky player in Race 7 at Geelong. Prepared to forgive the Gavin Bedggood-trained galloper for her most recent run when last at Sandown. She didn’t have the best start before working hard early, only to drop out of it. That came in a BenchMark 70 and she drops down to 58. At her two starts prior, the daughter of Moshe was placed at both Echuca and Bendigo. She draws well in barrier 4 and will be ridden by the 2kg claimer, Codi Jordan.
