Geraldton Tips 28/09/2022

BEST BET 🏆

Race 7 No. 2 THREE SESSIONS ($3.40)

We can expect solid support from punters for THREE SESSIONS who put four wins together at this track. Barry Newnham applied the bar plates from the beginning of the horse’s prep with the gear showing no signs of slowing him down. The punters were on, sending him out in the red for at least three of those four outings to collect the cash every time. Newnham gave his horse a break and the punters again piled in on resumption. Peta Edwards stalked the speed aboard Three Sessions with the hotpot unable to let down fully into the straight. He’s back after being subsequently tipped straight out following that run. The bar plates come off in a good sign that all is right, and we’ll look to Three Sessions in the last.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 6 No. 3 ZIERA – ($11)

The in-form mare ZIERA finds an ideal opportunity to upset a few more fancied rivals whilst racing up in class. The seven-furlong specialist makes her way to the provincials following back-to-back wins at Junction and Carnarvon. Showed her versatility as the rider needed to take hold shortly after jumping last start. Ziera came back under her to relax beautifully before moving into the race as needed. Mollie Clark then let her rip up the middle of the track to come away for a good win. There’s some pressure expected to come from the wider gates here to give Kate Witten early cover. She can have Ziera into the clear before straightening and back her mare’s fitness to deny the others up the straight.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 4 No. 5 SANS LE SOU – ($7.50)

It’s hard to knock winning form and we’ll take on trust that SANS LE SOU is fresh enough to fly a distance short of her best. She’s won five from fifteen though, including three from nine here. Small field may prove to become a tactical affair, even over this short sprint journey. Troy Turner will have to make his mind up out of the gates to either dig her up in an attempt to cross, or to come back in behind them. He has the favourite drawn immediately to his inside in Corn Cob. That horse found the back of a well-fancied Startrade to go on and score over this track and trip a few runs back. Wouldn’t surprise to see Victoria Corver attempt similar tactics here which may open the door for Sans Le Sou to roll forward in a slowly run race.
