The Team Edmonds-trained PRINCE AMONGST MEN is in sensational form this time in and looks well placed here to bring up another victory in this event. Last start, the Winning Rupert gelding was shooting for his hat-trick when facing Class 3 competition for the first time. He led everywhere except where it counted and had to settle for third prize after being grabbed right on the line in the 1300m contest. Yet to miss a podium finish in four starts this preparation, Noel Callow returns for the ride after steering him to three podium finishes at his past three rides on the four-year-old. With a trouble-free run here, he looks right in the mix.

Ballina based, BYRON EYES, is third-up today and showed enough last start to suggest she is ready to win. The Dissident mare took on a Class 1 contest, here over 1200m when she finished third, being second-up off a lengthy seven-month absence. She faces easier opposition here and has Jai Williams returning for the ride (after steering the mare to her maiden win three starts back. Ideally drawn in gate two today, she maps to settle just behind the pace and fitter for those two starts, she looks a solid each-way chance in this contest.
