Race 6:  No.1  LEGAL ESPRIT 

The Don Baker-trained LEGAL ESPRIT has hit top-form at the right time and looks a big chance of taking out the big one here. Last start, the Bel Esprit gelding registered his first win for this campaign when he finished best to take out an Open Hcp over 1200m at Doomben. Melea Castle rode him a treat that day, running down the leader and snatching a half-length victory on the line. Michael Cahill is in charge for this assignment, having ridden the five-year-old twice previously. Ideally drawn in gate four, he maps to settle three or four pairs back here and should be well suited by the early pace. He is yet to win over 1400m but has placed at Listed and Group 3 level and well-seasoned this time in, he can give this a real shake.

Race 3:  No.11  WHISKEY DREAM  

Kevin Kemp saddles-up WHISKEY DREAM here who is in top-shelf form and looks all set here to make it four-straight in this contest. Last start, the Dream Ahead gelding brought up the hat-trick with class apprentice Cejay Graham aboard. Leading from the 1200m mark, he held off all challenges and went on to win by a length in Class 3 company over 1690m at Ipswich. Graham sticks with the four-year-old here after already steering him to three of his four career wins to date. He jumps from the middle of the pack in gate seven and maps to settle better than mid-field. With a clear run to the line, he is every chance of making it four-straight here.

Race 2:  No.12  GOLDEEL 

The Team Sears-trained GOLDEEL has improved with each start since resuming and now in winning form, looks well placed here to shoot for back-to-back victories. Lastg start, the Dundeel mare hit her peak when she took out a Class 5 Hcp over 1640m at Doomben. Angela Jones celebrated her fourth win on the mare that day and remains on board for this assignment. Drawn in gate seven, her early gate-speed has her crossing to settle in the first half-dozen in the 12-strong field and despite facing a class rise, she is already a winner at the track and looks well worth an each-way ticket here.
