Race 3:  No.1  JETFOIL  ($3.90 with BlueBet)

Locally-trained by Helen Page, JETFOIL is second-up here and looks well placed to give this field a real fright. Last start, the Snitzel gelding wasn’t too far away when finishing fifth in a Class 2 Hcp, here over 1300m. He drew wide that day and settled back in the field, but made up enough ground to be noticed. Here, he steps up in distance where he boasts a solid record over the 1700m. with a win and three minor placings coming from his five starts at the trip. He draws the outside gate here but in the small field, it shouldn’t affect his chances too much. Fitter for that first-up run and already placed three times when second-up, watch for his big finish here.

Race 6:  No.3  GEE BEE ESS  ($10 with Palmerbet)

Victorian galloper, GEE BEE ESS has excelled in two starts since crossing the border and looks well placed here to challenge for another Qld victory. Two starts back, the Testa Rossa mare tasted victory on her Qld debut when she took out a BM58 Hcp over 1200m at Beaudesert. Then last start, she lined-up again on the same track where she faced a BM62 field over 1100m and over the shorter trip, gave the leader too much start and had to settle for second prize, beaten half a length on the line. She ran her last 600m, 2.8 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in the races and posted the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals as well. She will strip even fitter here and with a trouble-free run, she can give this contest a real shake at odds.

Race 5:  No.2  CHILLIWACK  ($12 with bet365)

Local galloper CHILLIWACK was our Best Bet last start and wasn’t disgraced but fitter here looks an even better winning prospect at big odds. Last start, the Exceed And Excel gelding was sent out a drifting $6 chance and still made the podium, finishing third in the BM65 Hcp, here over 1100m. With Jag Guthmann-Chester aboard, he fought a brave fight but just didn’t have the finish to match it with the first two past the post. Guthmann-Chester sticks with him here and now three starts into this preparation, he should be nearing his peak. He is a three-time winner here and a winner here over the trip as well. He looks outstanding each-way value in this line-up.
