BEST BET 🏆
Race 1: No.2 GIGANTIC ($4 with Unibet)
The Ron Quinton-trained GIGANTIC has found his mojo at last and has the runs on the board of late to feature in this contest. Last start, the Rubick gelding came off his maiden win at Kembla Grange when he faced a Class 1 field and finished second over the 1500m trip at Hawkesbury. He ran a new personal best that day, covering the trip, 5.7 lengths slower than benchmark, still the best last-start effort here. He also clocked the fastest final 200m sectional for the race. The step-up to the mile here shouldn’t cause any dramas and with Sam Clipperton in the saddle, he looks every chance of winning his first race on the Gosford track.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 6: No.5 VERY SHARP ($6.50 with Palmerbet)
The Rod Northam-trained VERY SHARP has found the podium on his two appearances here and back in form now, looks every chance of back-to-back wins today. Last start, the Bull Point mare came off an ordinary start to this campaign and turned it around when she took out a BM66 Hcp, here over 1100m. She was on her game that day, running the last 600m, 4.1 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this field and posted the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals for the race as well. Reece Jones has steered the mare to success twice previously and remains aboard today. Drawn to do no early work in three, she maps to settle near field again and will be doing her best work in the run home.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 8: No.2 BRIARS KINGDOM ($4 with Palmerbet)
Team Snowden have BRIARS KINGDOM resuming here and boasting a solid fresh record, will take beating in this contest. The Animal Kingdom gelding ended his last preparation with two unplaced efforts on Randwick’s Kensington track. Both of those performances were in BM72 company over 1300m. He has spent the last 20 weeks in the paddock, however he has since returned to work, finishing fourth in a Randwick trial. He is yet to miss a podium finish on fresh legs and was a first-up winner at Goulburn last preparation in BM64 company. Tom Sherry has the reins today and with a trouble-free run here, he can make his Gosford debut a winning one.
