BEST BET 🏆
Race 5: No.1 I’LL TELL YOU NOW ($4 with bet365)
In career-best form this preparation, the locally-trained I’LL TELL YOU NOW is at the top of his game and looks a super chance of bringing up the hat-trick today. Last start, the Eurozone gelding made it back-to-back wins when travelling very wide most of the way, he still prevailed to claim victory in a BM64 Hcp at his first look at the Gosford track. He ran that out, 2.2 lengths slower than benchmark, still the best last-start effort in this field. The stable fit the tongue tie for the first time today as Josh Parr sticks with the four-year-old. The gelding is up slightly in weight but draws much better here in gate three. With two real speedsters drawn inside him, he maps to be box-seating on settling and should enjoy a nice trail from there. Rock-hard fit after five starts this time in, he looks a real contender in this contest.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 3: No.6 TINTOOKIE ($3.40 with Ladbrokes)
The Brad Widdup-trained TINTOOKIE is yet to miss a podium finish in three career starts to date and looks well placed here to keep that record intact. Last start, the Winning Rupert filly was fresh off a 21-week spell when she beat all but one to the line in a BM64 Hcp, here over 1100m. She ran her last 600m, 4.9 lengths quicker than benchmark, second-best here behind topweight, Field Wiri. The pair of them seem to have the race between themselves (as the market indicates) with Tintookie enjoying a slight pull in the weights. The filly also has Brett Prebble on board for the first time and from gate four, maps to settle mid-field with cover, giving her the last crack at the leaders. With a clear run to the line, she should prover hard to hold out today.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 6: No.11 BADDA BOOM BABY ($11 with bet365)
Annabel Neasham saddles-up BADDA BOOM BABY here who surprised punters last run but a win in this event won’t be a shock today. Last start, the Smart Missile filly came off a lengthy six-month absence when showed her rivals no mercy, breaking through for her Maiden win over 1350m on the Beaumont track at Newcastle. Settling last (of 11), she spotted the leaders some 10 lengths and fanning the widest on the turn, stormed home to put almost two lengths on them over the line. She ran the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals that day and had plenty left in the tank as well. She takes the next step here in Class 1 company and the step up to the mile looks ideal for her now. Down in weight and Keagan Latham remaining aboard, she is in from $15 overnight and still looks a worthy each-way investment today.
