Race 7:  No.11  PRINCESTON

Kembla Grange galloper, PRINCESTON is fresh off a 14-week break and ticks enough boxes here to put fear into her opposition in this contest. Last start, the Exosphere mare ended a three-start campaign with a win against Class 1 company over 1010m at Moruya. She finished second in a recent trial at Kembla Grange and today is joined by Shaun Guymer who has steered her to both career wins to date. Ideally drawn in gate three, she maps to settle on the speed and should fly over the 1000m here today. Already a winner when first up and over the trip, her track debut today can be a winning one.

Race 5:  No.3  EMANCIPIST 

Rosehill galloper, EMANCIPIST is second-up today and looks well placed here to keep his 100% strike rate at Goulburn intact. Last start, the Thronum gelding resumed off a 22-week spell when he beat all but one home in a Class 1 Hcp over 1300m at Kembla Grange. On a Heavy 10 that day, he came from last on the turn and was beaten by the barest possible margin on the line. He comes into gate four here (after early scratchings) and has a new pilot today with Zac Wadick taking the reins. Placed second-up previously and a winner at the track as well, he can give this a real shake today.

Race 1:  No.5  GET SHAFTED

The Lynne Morrison-trained GET SHAFTED is third-up today and has good claims here to cause the upset in this contest. Last start, the Shaft gelding was second-up where he took on Open company at Moruya and finished unplaced in the 1200m event on a Heavy 8 that day. He has placed here at his only appearance and is already a winner when third-up. The big selling point is the return of Jeff Penza who has ridden the six-year-old to all three of his career-wins to date. He does no early work from gate three and maps to settle back in the field again. He boasts three podium finishes on soft tracks so conditions are ideal for him today. Currently at double-figures, he looks like a sound investment here.
