Head and head to the line, the Better Than Ready gelding did best in the end and collected the cash. Ideally drawn here in gate four, he maps to settle on speed and has Ben Looker in charge for this clash. Fitter for that debut win, a clear run home here could see back-to-back wins for him today.

The Stephen Lee-trained SAILING is in career-best form of late and at the eights today looks a genuine chance at back-to-back victories here. Last start, the Fast ‘n’ Famous mare bounced back from a disappointing run at Ipswich when she took the accolades in winning a BM66 Hcp over 1400m at Coffs Harbour. She led on settling and held off the challenges to get the job done that day. She steps up to Open company today but after Zac Wadick’s claim, she drops 5kgs from her last-start win and comes in at 3kgs under the limit. She is already a winner at the track and distance and has two other wins over the trip as well. With early speed drawn inside her today, she may be forced to take a sit but with a trouble-free run, she can still give this contest a real shake at (currently) each-way odds.
