BEST BET 🏆

Race 7:  No.4  FOX  APPEAL  ($8 with BlueBet)

Trained at Wangaratta by Craig Weeding, FOX APPEAL is third-up today and ticks enough boxes to suggest he is a genuine winning chance in this contest. Last start, the Foxwedge gelding was second-up at Wagga where he gave a good account of himself, beating all but one home in a Class 3 Hcp over 1200m. On a Soft 7 that day, the leader pinched (what was to be) a winning break, but to his credit, the four-year-old chased the leader all the way to the line, doing his best work over the final 100m. Jake Duffy boasts six podium finishes from seven previous rides on the gelding and sticks with him for this assignment. Fitter for two runs back and already a winner when third-up, he can chalk-up his third career-win right here.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 6:  No.4  LADY TABLOID  ($6.10 with BoomBet)

The Nick Olive-trained LADY TABLOID is third-up today and sporting winkers for the first time, looks well placed here to bounce back to somewhere near her best. Last start, the Press Statement mare missed the start by a length and never recovered, finishing unplaced in a BM66 over 1400m at Goulburn. Billy Owen sticks with her today and from gate three, maps to settle just off the pace. Seven of her ten podium finishes have come on wet tracks so conditions today look ideal. With a trouble-free run here, she can give this contest a real shake.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 3:  No.10  SUPER SUNNY SEEYA  ($8 with bet365)

Albury-based galloper SUPER SUNNY SEEYA is having just his second race start today and looks set for back-to-back victories here. Last start, the Rubick gelding made his racing debut at Narrandera where he finished of the 12 runners to take home the major prize that day. Box-seating to the turn, the leader rolled off the fence, giving the three-year-old a dream passage through and he took full advantage of it. Jeff Penza is booked for the ride today and from gate five, the galloper maps to settle in a similar spot here. He finished second in his only trial on a Heavy 10 at Albury so the conditions shouldn’t hamper his chances here. Going off that debut win, he looks a big chance here at odds.
