Race 5 No. 4 ROMANY ROCKS- ($4.20)

This looks to be a suitable assignment for ROMANY ROCKS. The Simon Wilde-trained galloper heads into this second up and stepped out at Warracknabeal on November 27, running on from well back to finish 4th behind Desperado. She was crunched in the late betting that day before producing the fastest last 200m. Second up last time she improved more than nine lengths on benchmark figures to place at Sandown behind Blistering, while she was a winner at her only other career second up run. She is likely to get back in this race but pace looks ok with a few to go forward and things should set up nicely for her.

Race 6 No. 1 ANTARCTIC OCEAN- ($7)

Next Best comes up in Race 6 and it is ANTARCTIC OCEAN that can go close after a solid last start effort that saw him finish runner-up on the Heavy at Casterton on November 21 over the 1400m. He led that day at a solid tempo before just going down late. All four wins have come on drier tracks and he should get this at Hamilton and the son of Proisir has attracted support in the early betting.
