Race 9:  No.3  RAGING BLIZZARD

John Size saddles-up RAGING BLIZZARD here who high-flying this preparation and only has to overcome a wide gate to figure in this finish tonight. Last start, the Per Incanto gelding saw the Happy Valley track for the first time where he impressed by beating all but one home, in a Class 3 over 1200m. Zac Purton returns for tonight’s assignment having already ridden the four-year-old twice for top-two finishes on both occasions. He has drawn the car park in gate 12 but Purton is a whizz at dealing with wide gates and with the horse in top-shelf form and at his peak after four starts back, he still looks the testing material tonight.

Race 5:  No.2  DRAGON STAR

The Pierre Ng-trained DRAGON STAR has found the podium in seven of his eight starts this preparation and ticking every box here, looks the one to beat in this contest. Last start, the Pride Of Dubai gelding came off his only blemish this time in (finishing unplaced) when he bounced back by beating all but one home in a Class 4, here over the 1650m trip. Sitting second all the way, he took over at the 300m mark and did well to hold off all but Win Win Fighter (who enjoyed a 2.5kg advantage over him), beaten just a long neck on the line. His is a two-time winner at the track and has made the podium in seven of his eight attempts over the track and distance. He is a strong and consistent type who can get the job done here tonight.

Race 7:  No.5  ALL BEAUTY

The Frankie Lor-trained ALL BEAUTY has done everything but win this preparation and gets another chance tonight to score his first win this time in. Last start, the All Too Hard gelding drew wide and was taken back in the field by apprentice Angus Chung where he remained until the turn. He then moved forward (still eight lengths off the speed) and was then carted even wider by Quantum Patch (who went on to finish second), leaving him with a mammoth task and to his credit, he ran home like a freight train and finished just two lengths from the winner. He welcomes back Alex Badel tonight who has ridden him twice previously and with an early sit a little closer to the pace, he can be a real contender in this contest.
