BEST BET 🏆
Race 7: No.4 COMET SPLENDIDO ($2.25 with BlueBet)
The Danny Shum-trained COMET SPLENDIDO is in good touch after two runs this time in and tonight will be looking to go one better. Last start, the War Command gelding was second-up when he beat all but one to the line in a Class 3 Hcp, here over 1650m. Box-seating to the turn, he took over soon after and had them beaten until Nearly Fine whizzed on by to grab victory on the line. He ran that out, 7.1 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best here by 3 lengths and that was a new personal best as well. Already a winner when third-up, Zac Purton takes the reins tonight and with a trouble-free run here, he looks the testing material in this contest.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 4: No.6 FA FA ($2.80 with Unibet)
Frankie Lor saddles-up two runners here and we are going with FA FA tonight who is a track specialist and second-up, will take some beating in this event. Last start, the five-year-old gelding was fresh off a lengthy 17-week break when he impressed by finishing third in a Class 2, here over the 1650m trip. His record here is exemplary with nine starts resulting in six wins and two minor placings. Vince Ho was with him for three of those victories and is in the saddle again tonight. From gate five, he is expected to cross and stalk the leaders again and already a winner when second-up, fitter here he will take a ton of beating.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 3: No.2 FIVE ELEMENTS ($3.20 with bet365)
Second-up tonight, the Frankie Lor-trained FIVE ELEMENTS will strip fitter here and ticks enough boxes to take this out. Last start, the Australian-bred gelding put in an impressive effort when finishing third in a Class 3 contest, here over 1200m. That was his first run in 18 weeks (having finished second in a trial prior to that run). His ten starts at the 1200m have resulted in five minor placings with his most recent effort seeing him run a personal best, covering the trip, 7 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this field. The in-form Zac Purton gains the ride here (after rattling-off seven winners at Sha Tin last Sunday). He gets the gun-run from gate one tonight and fitter for that first-up run, should take beating here.
