The John Size-trained BEAUTY INFINITY is in top-shelf form this campaign and lines-up here as the best of the night. Last start, the Toronado gelding was having his fifth race-start when he destroyed his rivals in a Class 4 Hcp, here over the 1200m. With Zac Purton aboard, With 61kgs to carry, he settled one out, one back with the perfect sit and in the run home, dealt them a killing blow by finding another gear and scooting away to win by more than two lengths, like all $1.70 favourites should. He climbs to Class 3 grade tonight and has Purton sticking with him as he drops 5kgs for this assignment. There is still some black-odds about but that’s unlikely to last long. He looks the testing material in this contest.

Race 6:  No.3  WATCH BUDDY

The Ricky Yiu-trained WATCH BUDDY had excuses for missing the hat-trick and looks well placed here to bounce back in this contest. Last start, the night didn’t begin well for the Rothesay gelding after drawing the outside gate he was kept wide by another runner and never saw the track in the entire race. Carrying 61kgs, he turned for home, third last (of the nine runners) and too far back to even consider a podium finish of any kind. It was no surprise to see his losing margin of five lengths, after they ran the 1200m in 1:09. He gets the opportunity to turn it all around tonight and starts by drawing the fence where he maps to settle in the first half dozen with cover. After the claim, he carries a whopping 6.5kgs less (or a stone on the old scale) than last start and with that in mind, he looks a big chance of bringing up win number five for the Happy Valley circuit tonight.

Race 9:  No.4  TOMODACHI KOKOROE

David Hayes saddles-up TOMODACHI KOKOROE here who has saluted four times this preparation and looks a solid chance of racking-up another victory tonight. Last start, the Written Tycoon gelding made it back-to-back wins when he out-bobbed Bundle Of Charm in a Class 1, here over 1200m. He had to run 1:09.4 to win it but he secured the win with Karis Teetan on board. He is up in weight tonight but drops in grade and maps to settle in the first half-dozen from gate five. Teetan steers the ship again and if the pace is genuine, he can pour on the pressure again in the run home. He is well worth an each-way ticket tonight.
