Race 8: No.2 WHIZZ KID ($3.10 with Palmerbet)
The Tony Cruz-trained WHIZZ KID is back to his best and third-up today looks the testing material. Last start, the Shalaa gelding was second-up and coming off two trials he spanked a Class 2 field at Happy Valley, putting almost three lengths on them in the 1000m sprint. He ran that out, 11 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this field and set a new personal best as well. He loves the Sha Tin track, finishing on the podium in six of his nine appearances here and even fitter for those two runs back, he will prove hard to hold out here.

Race 9: No.3 FIERY DIAMOND ($4 with Palmerbet)
Benno Yung saddles-up FIERY DIAMOND here who is unbeaten this preparation and looks in line for four-straight wins today. Last start, the US-bred gelding made it a hat-trick when he belted a Class 3 field, here over 1200m on the all-weather-track. Putting four lengths on them, he ran the trip, 6.2 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best here by 4 lengths and that was new personal best for him as well. He also ran the fastest final 800m sectional for the race. Two starts back, he beat home Stand Up who is hot favourite for race seven here today. Derek Leung sticks with him today and although up in weight here, his winning margin last-start suggests he should handle it. Already a three-time winner at the track and distance, he looks the one to beat again.
