BEST BET 🏆
Race 2: No.4 FA FA ($4.20 with Unibet)
The Frankie Lor-trained FA FA resumes from a 17-week absence tonight and boasting a superb track record, looks the one to beat. Last start, the five-year-old gelding had just one start in his last campaign where he finished fifth in a Class 2, here over 1650m journey. Whilst missing out on a podium finish that night, he was held up at a crucial stage in the run home, and yet still ran his last 600m, 9 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best here. His Happy Valley record is second to none, with six victories from eight starts, and five from seven over the distance. Vince Ho returns for the ride and he boasts 6 wins from nine rides on the galloper. He has the benefit of a recent trial and drawn the fence here, he gets the gun-run without wasting early fuel. Already a winner when first-up, he looks the one to beat in this contest.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 7: No.8 SUPER MISSION ($3.70 with Ladbrokes)
The Ricky Yui-trained SUPER MISSION also resumes from the season break here and if he can pick up where he left off last preparation, he will take beating here. The Super Easy gelding ended his last campaign with four-straight podium finishes. At his last run, he finished a close-up third in a Class 3 Hcp, here over 1200m. He ran his last 600m, 4.5 lengths quicker than benchmark, second-best behind Spontaneous (who resumes tonight for a new trainer). Derek Leung returns for tonight’s assignment and from six previous rides on the galloper, he has three podium finishes to his name. Ideally drawn in gate two, he maps to settle just off the pace and will have the first crack at them on the turn. Yet to miss a top-three finish in four starts at the track and distance, he is drawn to give this contest a real shake tonight.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 6: No.5 PACKING FAMOUS ($4.80 with bet365)
Danny Shum saddles-up two here with PACKING FAMOUS having the advantage of a run and looking a genuine chance here again. Last start, the Press Statement gelding resumed from the season break and unwanted in the market, beat all but one home in a Class 3 Hcp, here over tonight’s trip. He ran a personal best that night, covering the mile journey, 6.1 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this field. He draws well here in gate five and maps to settle in the first half-dozen in the field. Matthew Poon retains the ride and up against similar company, carrying the same weight (after the claim), he looks a good chance of going one better here at odds.
