Our form expert provides Hong Kong tips for tonight’s horse racing at Happy Valley Racecourse and gives his best bets.
BEST BET đ
Race 8:Â No.4Â ZONE DÂ ($3.20 with Unibet)
The John Size-trained ZONE D is three starts back from a lengthy eight-month absence and now looks ready to win. Last start, the Holy Roman Emperor gelding showed great improvement to beat all but one to the line in a Class 3 Hcp, here over the mile. With 60.5kgs and drawing the outside gate (10), Zac Purton dropped him back to settle last. Passing the 600m mark, Purton pushed him forward where he circled the field and on straightening had take over. He hit the line strongly, only to be denied victory by Red Majesty who enjoyed a far better run in the race. Down in weight tonight, the five-year-old also draws much better in gate five and with Purton remaining on board, he looks a real winning chance tonight.
NEXT BEST đ„
Race 4:Â No.5Â BEAUTY TYCOONÂ ($3.20 with bet365)
Another from the John Size stable is BEAUTY TYCOON who has found the podium in six of his eight race starts to date and looks set to make his Happy Valley debut a winning one tonight. Last start, the Written Tycoon gelding came off a Class 4 win at Sha Tin when he stepped-up to Class 3 company for the first time. Settling just off the pace, he took the corner wide and on straightening, set sail after the red-hot race favourite (Victor The Winner) whom he caught near the line, along with several other swoopers in the race, finishing an impressive third in the race. Zac Purton returns for his second ride on the galloper and with that Class 3 experience behind him now, he looks ready to tackle this field head-on tonight.
BEST VALUE đ°Â
Race 6:Â No.3Â BUNDLE OF CHARMÂ ($7 with Palmerbet)
John Size saddles-up BUNDLE OF CHARM here who is also making his Happy Valley debut tonight and three starts into this campaign, he looks a genuine contender at odds here. Last start, the All Too Hard gelding had 60kgs to carry and wasnât that far away when finishing fourth in a Class 3 Hcp over 1200m at Sha Tin. Beaten just a length on the line, he chased home the three placegetters all the way to line without throwing in the towel. With Zac Purton already booked to ride Solid Impact here, Victor Borges has the job tonight and from gate four, the four-year-old maps to get the run of the race here and at peak fitness now, will be there at the finish.
