BEST BET 🏆

Race 6:  No.5  SUPERB BOY  ($2.60 with Palmerbet)

The Francis Lui-trained SUPERB BOY has come back in great touch and looks the one to beat again today. Last start, the Nicconi gelding had his first look at the Sha Tin track and settled in nicely by taking out a Class 3 Hcp over 1000m. He ran his last 600m, 8.3 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best here by 6 lengths and set himself a new personal best by running the entire trip out, 4.3 lengths quicker than standard, also the best last-start effort here. Carrying just 2kgs more today, he gets the gun-run from gate two as leading jockey Zac Purton sticks with him for this contest. All boxes ticked here and unbeaten when second-up, he looks the goods.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 10:  No.2  MAJESTIC STAR  ($5 with Unibet)

Danny Shum saddles-up MAJESTIC STAR here who is back on the all-weather-track and looks a solid winning chance today. Last start, the I Am Invincible gelding took on Class 2 company on the turf track at Happy Valley where he was pipped-out of third place in the 1200m event. He had a tendency to hang in down the home straight which ended up costing him that podium finish but was beaten just 2.5 lengths in the end. He gets the gun-run from gate one today and is joined by Aussie rider Hugh Bowman for the first time (with regular rider Harry Bentley booked to ride Toronado Phantom here). Rock-hard fit after three runs back and a winner on the dirt surface, here two starts back, he looks in the mix today.
