PIERRANHA can open the day up with a win at Horsham. The Archie Alexander-trained galloper comes off a solid run at Warracknabeal over the 1600m and settled midfield that day and did the work out wide as they rounded, producing the fastest 600m-200m before just running out of steam late and going down to Captain Envious. That horse has since come out and claimed a 0-64 race at Geelong. The son of Pierro looks like he will be be suited by the step up to the 1800m and should be strong late in the piece.

Race 4 No. 8 BEOUR BAY- ($2.15)

BEOUR BAY has been edging closer with every run and can chalk up his first victory when she lines up in Race 4. Another from the Archie Alexander stable, the four-year-old was solid when resuming after a long break with a 3rd behind What You Need at Geelong over the 1118m before stepping up to the 1300m at Bendigo and running on very strongly to fill the exacta behind Nijiko. She has drawn barrier 4 for this assignment and can run them down late in the piece.

Race 8 No. 6 LANI BANG BANG- ($4.20)

We close off with a BenchMark 58 over the 1200m and LANI BANG BANG can end the day a winner. The six-year-old overcame a stack of trouble at Moe two starts ago to score on the Heavy before heading to Wodonga and finishing runner-up behind Vanderland. She settled back that day before producing the fastest last 200m. The daughter of Reward For Effort gets back to the 1200m and has drawn to save ground from barrier 1. Daniel Stackhouse rides and strikes at 25% for the stable.
