Toowoomba galloper NED’S GULLY enjoys racing here and looks poised for back-to-back victories today. Last start, the Bel Esprit gelding led from barrier to box when he clobbered his rivals in a Class 2 Hcp, here over 1200m. He ran that out in 1:09 and covered his last 600m, 6.8 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best here by more than 4 lengths. Jaden Lloyd sticks with him here as he gets all the favours from gate one. He is up in grade today but has shown enough to suggest he should handle the transition. In from $2 overnight, the money has come and he looks the testing material in this contest.

Race 6: No.7 AQUARIUS ($4.20 with Palmerbet)
The Matt Dunn-trained AQUARIUS is three starts into this preparation and looks well placed here for another podium finish today. Last start, the Headwater mare beat all but one home in a Class 2 Hcp over 1400m at Ballina. She ran her last 600m, 1.3 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this line-up, while posting the fastest final 400m and 200m sectionals for the race. Rock-hard fit after three runs back, Ben Thompson has the job today and already a winner at the track, the mare looks right in the mix for another bold performance.

Race 5: No.4 CAMPIONE ($6 with BlueBet)
The Kelly Schweida-trained CAMPIONE made an impressive debut at the Sunshine Coast and will only strip fitter here today. The Zoustar gelding finished strongly to grab third prize in the 1200m Maiden. Ben Thompson has the reins today in a shorter contest and after scratchings will jump from gate six. His debut effort was impressive and he can only improve off that. He lines up here at good odds with the bagmen and looks a sound investment in this contest.
