BEST BET 🏆

Race 6:  No.3  MY SNOW QUEEN  ($3 with Palmerbet)

The David Vandyke-trained MY SNOW QUEEN is in outstanding form this preparation and looks a genuine contender in this contest. Last start, the Star Turn mare made it two wins from three starts this time in when she beat home city class gallopers in a BM70 Hcp over 1200m at Doomben. She ran home strongly that day, covering her last 600m, 2.3 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this field. She meets provincial class runners here and should find this a little easier as well. Formerly with the John Smerdon stable, it would appear (based on her three starts this preparation) that Vandyke has her running on all cylinders and with Ryan Maloney remaining aboard today, she will take beating here.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 7:  No.10  SABALENKA  ($3.30 with Ladbrokes)

With the field reduced significantly by early scratchings, the job of winning here is now made easier for SABALENKA who resumes off a four-month break and will be minus the blinkers for the first time as well. Last preparation, the Swiss Ace mare managed five podium finishes from her eight starts but ended the campaign on a poor note, finishing down the track in a strong BM75 Hcp over 1400m at Eagle Farm. She still managed to run her last 600m, 7 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best last-start effort here by more than 3 lengths. Trainer, Robert Heathcote spelled her immediately. Returning to trackwork last month, she placed in a Doomben trial and lines-up here seeing the Ipswich track for the first time. Placed first-up previously, James Orman returns for today’s assignment, already boasting two wins and as many runner-up finishes from his five rides to date. Ideally drawn in gate two today, she take control here and prove hard to hold out.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 4:  No.2  SPILL THE SECRET  ($5 with bet365)

Gold Coast galloper SPILL THE SECRET is in career-best form this time in and looks the one to beat in this contest. Last start, the Spill The Beans gelding came off his maiden win at Eagle Farm when he beat all but one home in a 1400m Class 1 Hcp at Gatton. Missing victory by a head that day, he ran his last 600m, 1 length quicker than benchmark, the best here by 2 lengths and he recorded the fastest final 200m sectional as well. Justin Stanley rode him to that Maiden win and returns here looking for two from two with the four-year-old. Ideally drawn in gate three, he maps to settle just off the pace again and will appreciate the extra ground today. He should take beating here.
