Race 3:  No.2  REIGNING KING

Nathan Doyle makes the three-hour trek from Newcastle today with just REIGNING KING on the float who is second-up and looks a major player in this contest. Last start, the Snitzel colt resumed off a 15-week spell and did well to beat all but one home in a Class 1 over 1000m at Hawkesbury with Koby Jennings on board. Placed at his only start here, he will strip fitter for that first-up run and Jennings steers the ship again for this assignment. Doyle has fitted a tongue tie for this event and drawn in gate five, he maps to be on the speed (possibly leading). Already a winner when second-up, he will give this a real shake today.

Race 7:  No.4  STARS AND BARS

The Team Attard-trained STARS AND BARS is third-up today and racing over a preferred distance, looks set to give this contest a real shake. Last start, the Starspangledbanner gelding finished strong to grab second prize in a BM64 over the shorter 1100m trip, beaten a neck on the line with Jason Collett in the saddle. Collett has had previous success with the five-year-old and steers the ship again today. He gets the gun-run from gate one here and maps to settle near the speed, saving ground on the fence. Already a winner when third-up and a winner at the track and distance, today can be his day.

Race 6:  No.8  ALLHALLOWTIDE

John O’Shea saddles-up a couple here as we run with ALLHALLOWTIDE as the most likely of the pair to take this out. Last start, the well-bred Savabeel gelding was second-up when he came from back in the field to finish fifth, beaten just a length on the line in a BM64 over the 1600m trip at Newcastle. Today, Tyler Schiller is the new pilot and from gate one, the four-year-old will do little to no work early. He won third-up (on this track) last preparation and fitter for his first two runs back, he prove hard to hold out in this contest.
