Tulloch Lodge galloper, NOTABADBUY is in career-best form with four top-two finishes from his past six starts and looks well placed here to add another one to that tally. Last start, the five-year-old tried to lead all the way at Warwick Farm but faded over the final 100m to miss out on a podium finish against a strong BM72 field over 2110m. He drops in grade today and has Amy McLucas as the new pilot who brings a 2kg claim with her for this assignment. The stable have put the blinkers back on him today and against easier opposition, he looks a genuine chance of bouncing back here.

Race 8:  No.7  THIS IS THE MOMENT  

Albury trainer Mitchell Beer saddles-up THIS IS THE MOMENT here who has a solid track record and with a trouble-free run today, can figure in the finish. Last start, the Toronado gelding finished third in a Class 1 Hcp, here over the 1600m trip. Robbie Downey was aboard for his fifth ride on the four-year-old who struck trouble in the run home where he was crowded for room, but still finished less than two lengths from the winner. Drawing gate five today could be a blessing as it keeps him off the fence and should provide some galloping room in the run home. Downey sticks with him and with a clear run to the line, he can take this one out today.

Race 5:  No.2  COASTWATCH

The Team Freedman-trained COASTWATCH returns to the track after more than 18 months off the scene and is capable of a first-up showing today. Last start, the well-bred Fastnet Rock gelding finished fourth in the Group 2 QLD Guineas (1600m) back in April 2022 and hasn’t been seen since. He has, however, trialled half a dozen times since then, winning his latest effort (on March 1) at Rosehill by more than a length with Keagan Latham in the saddle. Now a five-year-old, he has plenty of credibility and has Group 2 success on his resume, boasting a win in the Autumn Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield. Already a two-time winner when first-up and a winner at this track, he could surprise today and is well worth an each-way at (currently) double-figure odds.
