BEST BET 🏆
Race 5: No.3 SPORTS LEGEND ($3.60 with Neds)
Les Bridge saddles-up SPORTS LEGEND here who has come back in top-shelf form and third-up today, looks the one to beat in this contest. Last start, the Deep Field gelding clobbered them on Randwick’s Kensington track where he led from barrier to box and broke through for his maiden win over 1100m. He ran the trip out, 2.2 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this line-up and set a new personal best as well. The wide draw today may see him settle behind the pace with Sam Clipperton on board for the first time. He has plenty of upside about him and with the runs on the board, he looks poised for back-to-back victories here.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 4: No.10 I AM JADE ($4.80 with Ladbrokes)
The Chris Waller-trained I AM JADE is third-up today and on the brink of her first race victory. Last start, she showed a ton of improvement when finishing second in a 1200m Maiden Plate on this track. She ran that out, 2 lengths slower than benchmark, still the best in this field by more than 4 lengths. Well drawn in gate two today, she maps to settle just behind the early pace and gets first crack at them in the run home. With a trouble-free run and fitness on her side, she looks right in the mix here.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 2: No.11 LA SAGRADA ($9 with Ladbrokes)
The Robert Quinn- trained LA SAGRADA is now three starts into this preparation and looks poised to break through here today. Last start, the Churchill filly showed plenty of improvement when she beat all but one home in a Maiden Plate at Goulburn over the mile. She covered the trip, 5.6 lengths slower than benchmark, setting a new personal best and the best last start effort here while running the fastest final 200m sectional for the race. Tom Sherry is back aboard today as she gets the gun-run from gate one. She maps to be box-seating on settling and with the jump on the leaders from there, she should prove hard to hold out.
